The Rugrats gang celebrates Christmas Eve in a big way in "Babies in Toyland," an all-new Christmas special set in Christmasland, an animatronic winter wonderland designed by Tommy's dad Stu. At the holiday party, Angelica attempts to spoil Dil's first Christmas and drive Santa Claus nuts, but is thwarted by Tommy and the rest of the babies, who come to the rescue in a scene inspired by The Nutcracker. Meanwhile, the adults become snowbound in a festive cottage where they (reluctantly) discover the charm of a more old-fashioned Christmas. The program also includes "Falling Stars," a Star Wars parody centered around the brief disappearance of Spike the dog; "Cuddle Bunny," in which the Rugrats try to rescue Kimi's favorite new toy (a piñata!); and a pair of shorts--"The Great Unknown" and "Spike's Nightscare." Sure to be popular with the ankle-biters' legion of fans, this jolly holiday program is recommended. Aud: P. (J. Williams)
