What a deal--five cartoons on one tape and only one set of credits! Another bonus is that Rugrats cartoons, a regular tidbit on the hugely popular Nickelodeon channel, are cleverly written. Sample: Dear old Grandpa is camping out in the backyard with a pack of little children, reading them Thoreau’s Walden so they can appreciate the grandeur of the great outdoors. For a nightcap he terrifies the tots with a story of the legend of Sasquatch--Mr. Bigfoot, (a.k.a. Robin Williams’ big brother), then promptly falls asleep leaving wide-eyed hysterical children quietly chanting "there’s no such thing as Satchmo, there’s no such thing as Satchmo…" See what I mean? Highly recommended. [Note: This tape has been duplicated in EP/SLP mode, though this reviewer saw no noticeable deterioration in quality.] The two newest Rugrat videos are Bedtime Bash, and A Rugrats Chanukah. (N. Plympton)
