A real dog; it bites; or any other monstrous pun you can dig up. The Mystery, Inc. gang wisely sat out this frighteningly awful 1989 made-for-TV Scooby movie in which Count Dracula transforms race car driver Shaggy into a werewolf to complete the roster of ghoulish competitors in his monster road rally. Since television animation has made tremendous leaps in the past decade, this howler seems even more antiquated (my eight-year-old instantly noted its inferior quality, correctly observing "this is an old one"). Plus, it's got Scrappy, which is always the kiss of death. Not recommended. (K. Lee Benson)
