A harmlessly screwy and surprisingly funny kiddie flick, See Spot Run pairs a flighty flake of a nitwit mailman (David Arquette) with a drug-sniffing FBI dog that jumps in his mail truck while on the run from mob hit men after aiding in a big bust. Eighty percent of the gags are lowbrow pratfalls and there's not much originality to the Big Daddy-lite antics that crop up around Arquette babysitting the kid (Angus T. Jones) of his hottie neighbor (Leslie Bibb), whom he's trying to impress. But director John Whitesell puts a fresh coat of paint on the proceedings, Arquette dials down his usual obnoxious mugging and the cute kid seems to have some actual talent and comedic timing. If you're a parent looking for a movie you can watch with your kids and laugh a little yourself as well (as opposed to just tolerating some fodder like Pokemon), this one's reasonably winning. A strong optional purchase, especially at the sell-through price. (R. Blackwelder)
