Sesame Street: Best of Friends

This Sesame Street compilation is basically a clip show of fan-favorite segments (some that even this childless thirtysomething reviewer has seen before). Highlights include a counting duet between Elvis Costello and Elmo; a 39 Steps-reminiscent “Monsterpiece Theatre” segment with Cookie Monster (who is also featured in the anthem “C is for Cookie”); shape-aficionado Telly and James Blunt singing about triangles; the Count rubbing shoulders with Liam Neeson and Julianne Moore; and Oscar sharing the spotlight with Johnny Cash on “Nasty Dan,” being irritated by James Taylor's cheerfulness, and tackling the grouchy news with Anderson Cooper. Other guest stars include Gloria Estefan, Little Richard, Spike Lee, Lena Horne, and Rebecca Romijn. Bonus features include a downloadable activity book. Sure to be popular, this is recommended.
