Amusing adventures continue with the underwater denizens of Bikini Bottom in SpongeBob SquarePants: Tide and Seek, a compilation of 10 episodes from the phenomenally popular Nickelodeon series following the off-the-wall larks of a puckish sea sponge. In “Mermaidman and Barnacleboy III,” SpongeBob and starfish buddy Patrick botch house-sitting duties for the titular superheroes (voiced by Ernest Borgnine and Tim Conway) when they release captive baddie Man Ray (John Rhys Davies). In "Opposite Day," crotchety neighbor Squidward's hopes for moving away from SpongeBob are dashed when a plan backfires, while "Rock-A-Bye Bivalve" finds multitasking “mom” SpongeBob and obnoxious “dad” Patrick squabbling over their newfound “parental” responsibilities when they stumble across a baby scallop. Other episodes include “Dumped,” “Sleepy Time,” "Big Pink Loser,” “Squirrel Jokes,” “Bossy Boots,” “The Bully,” and “Squidsville.” A contemporary cartoon classic, this tongue-in-cheek, screwball compilation is recommended. DVD extras include audio commentaries, storyboards, and behind-the-scenes footage. Aud: P. (J. Williams)
