"I've got the savings habit--and it feels good!" Kids will love singing this, and three other songs, along with Siggy and Miggy, two cute piggy bank puppets who just want to find a home. After leaving the toy store where they've been languishing, S & M find an appreciative group in a kindergarten class and its teacher, who welcomes them into their lesson about money. Too much time is wasted getting the pigs from the store to the school, but the songs and piggies are cute enough so kids probably won't care. All the "educational" content is in the second half, and it's great. Especially admirable is the emphasis on sharing as well as saving (and of course, spending). Kids also see how doing chores can be fun, as well as profitable. The activity guide has lots of good extension activities for parents, and educators are welcome to make reproductions for classroom use. A recent winner of a Bronze Apple at the National Educational Media Festival, this is strongly recommended. Aud: K, E, P. (E. Gieschen)
