"All aboard," cries the conductor as we get on the diesel train, look at nature through the observation car, and travel quickly toward a zoo. Using each letter of the alphabet to illustrate train-terminology and develop language skills, this tape "enhances children's natural learning abilities while exploring some of the coolest aspects of trains." A rather wooden narrator is assisted by a bevy of chirping preschoolers who add comments and answer his questions ("Into tunnels!" "I hear a train coming right now!" "Luggage!"). While annoying to adults (i.e., me), this device helps involve young viewers and reinforces the concepts at hand. Recommended for preschoolers, who do seem to be inordinately interested in large, mechanized objects. Aud: K, E, P. (K. Glaser)
