The Ugly Duckling

As any parent knows, the only thing that makes the third grade class play tolerable (even videotape-able) is the presence of your own little darling stumbling over his lines and singing off key amongst the cardboard "scenery." Now imagine sitting through a video of children you don't know from Adam performing a heavy handed version of Hans Christian Anderson's fairy tale in sign language. Lacking as this video is in entertainment value, at least it could have been educational had it actually taught viewers some sign language. Unfortunately, the few signs presented in the opening "instructional" segment are covered so quickly it isn't possible to recognize them in the story. Not a necessary purchase. Aud: K, E, P. (J.
