Disney buffs may mourn the CGI-makeover of another iconic Disney character for this second direct-to-video entry in the series, but Tinker Bell and the Lost Treasure's core audience of young girls are sure to find enchantment in Pixie Hollow, where Tinker Bell (voiced by Mae Whitman) and her fellow fairies toil to make the seasons bright. The new story has Tink venturing across the sea on a secret quest and learning hard-earned lessons about friendship and accepting responsibility when she has a rift with her friend Terence (Jesse McCartney) over a broken scepter and a shattered moonstone, the precious gem that is the source of pixie dust. The animation can be quite spellbinding (this is still Disney, after all) and the high production values are complemented by a stellar voice cast, featuring Anjelica Huston, Kristen Chenoweth, Lucy Liu, Raven-Symone, and Jane Horrocks. Recommended. (D. Liebenson)
