Vision Exercises, which is concerned with improving "vision performance," offers exercises which can be easily memorized and duplicated, using simple materials found around the home. Created and hosted by optometrist Dr. Joel N. Zaba, the program discusses the importance of good visual habits and the need for exercising those eyes (in particular he stresses the benefits of vision exercises for improving reading comprehension and retention). The tape contains 14 exercises, all demonstrated, which approach the subject of vision from several different perspectives (hand-eye coordination, vision and accuracy, vision and memory, directions, etc.). At times, Dr. Zaba appears to be trying too hard to be a "host"--putting bouncy inflections on his self-help exhortations--which he is clearly not suited to be. Other than that, however, the subject area is certainly not flooded with entries, so Vision Exercises will make a good first purchase. Recommended.
