Pouty St. Tropez teen beauty Juliette (Brigitte Bardot) is trouble with a capital 'T', as her milquetoast husband Michel (Jean-Louis Trintignant) soon finds out, when Juliette, in a bout of 'mambo-inspired madness,' pits Michel against his own brother for her bountiful affections. Bardot fans will be delighted, for Criterion Films has lavished their signature best efforts on this new digital transfer that boasts gorgeous color, but those less preoccupied with Bardot's daunting curves will find this 1956 tale less torrid than torpid, with broadly painted characters and a predictable plot. A weak optional purchase. (S. C. Sickles)
