Stars: David Knight (Demons 2), Sandra Bullock, Kevin Otto, Brad Randall. A quirky, low-budget coming-of-age film, Who Shot Pat? is set in Brooklyn in the 1950s. When Patakango (Randall) shows up in class with a mysterious flesh wound, the speculations begin about the possibility of gang warfare. But the only "gang" Pat is part of is handful of classmates from his vocational high school who occasionally play a practical joke on a teacher or practice their moves for picking up girls. The leader, and central character, is Bic Bickham (Knight), a good-natured kid who falls head over heels for Devlin Moran (Bullock), an upscale Sarah Lawrence girl. As Bic tries to get Devlin to notice him, the film evolves into a subtle and charming look at love across the tracks. Husband and wife writer/director/producer team Robert and Halle Brooks have done a fine job of evoking the atmosphere of 1950s Brooklyn, and have spiced their story with some excellent laughs. Audience: Fans of Diner and other 1950s coming-of age films will enjoy this winning effort which also features a good soundtrack (Suzie Q, Peanuts, See Saw, etc.)
