Produced by the Canadian Broadcasting Corporation, this short little tape heralds the news that today's senior citizens are freed up, sexed up, and on the prowl. Via candid interviews with delightful elder men and women (both in couples and as singles), and a straight-talking medical doctor, As Time Goes By strongly suggests that our parents and grandparents probably still do it...or at least want to. If you aren't in the fetal position right now, or running around in denial with your hands over your eyes or ears, I can tell you that these frisky guys and gals remind us that sexuality remains a part of our lives until the very end, and that our perceptions of sex-among-the-aged could use a little broadening. Still, even though the medical doctor offers encouraging words and a few practical tips, the program really could have offered even, uh, harder-hitting information about the physical aspects of the problems the randy Estelle's and Hubert's might experience as they age. Charming though it is, this tape is just too expensive and too soft, really, despite how candidly the subject is treated, to be of much solid use. Optional. Aud: C, P. (K. Glaser)
