Bermuda

Okay, let's go! Even if your patrons don't watch this on a cold, rainy day, they'll still be ready to pack their bags and head to Bermuda after seeing this tape. Another entry in the American Automobile Association's enjoyable series, Bermuda gives viewers a good idea about the history and present-day life of this vacation destination. The islands' (and there are several) English heritage dates to 1609, when settlers enroute to Jamestown were shipwrecked off the coast. Today Bermuda is an independent nation in the British Commonwealth. While other island nations boast of "colorful" histories (especially those with seventeenth-century forts, cannons and armaments, like Bermuda), most of the real color here comes from the rainbow-painted buildings that are a local tradition. The video profiles the major cities of Hamilton, St. George and Harrington Sound, with their historic buildings, gardens, and museums. Americans may be surprised to find a link with our history at the Confederate Museum, located in a hotel formerly frequented by blockade runners. For those more interested in recreation, there are more golf courses per square mile in Bermuda than anywhere on earth. And of course, the famous "pink" sand beaches are an attraction all by themselves. Highly recommended.
