In Beyonce: Live at Wembley, the Destiny's Child frontwoman plays, with mixed success, to a massive London crowd during her first international solo tour. Sure, the fans adore her, but Beyonce's voice, a marvel of jazz-soul clarity, is often obscured and restrained here by cluttered, sometimes bizarre arrangements: "Baby Boy" and "Naughty Girl" drift off into a curious, Arabic sound, "Be With You" is forgettable, and while "Hip Hop Star" has a chunky, mesmerizing funk sound, it evaporates before the end. Much better is a Destiny's Child medley accompanied only by Beyonce's DJ, the borderline rock of "Work It Out," and the slow, warm "Speechless." Presented in Dolby Digital 5.1 and stereo, this double-disc package also includes a six-cut CD of remixes. Sure to be popular, this is lightly recommended for larger music collections, and optional elsewhere. Aud: P. (T. Keogh)
