An entry in the Green Planet Series aimed at grades K-3, Biodiversity offers an accessible introduction to the concept of diverse life forms all over the planet. Kids will learn about how plants and animals coexist in great variety in a wide range of environments, from desert to tundra to tropical rainforest. Along the way, young viewers are asked to compare environments and think about which ones are likely to feature more diversity (e.g., a parking lot with grass growing through pavement cracks vs. a woodsy setting). Also touching on the issues of sustainability and threats to biodiversity, this short informative title wraps up with a review of major points, followed by a quiz. Highly recommended. Aud: K, E, P. Star Ratings
As of March 2022, Video Librarian has changed from a four-star rating system to a five-star one. This change allows our reviewers to have a wider range of critical viewpoints, as well as to synchronize with Google’s rating structure. This change affects all reviews from March 2022 onwards. All reviews from before this period will still retain their original rating. Future film submissions will be considered our new 1-5 star criteria.
