While there is quite a bit of colorful footage of Mexico City, Amecameca, and Puebla, and excellent travel tips throughout, the focus in this "adventure guide for the intrepid traveler" is indeed on adventure: climbing three of Mexico's highest volcanoes (two are over 17,000 feet; the other over 18,000 feet). It takes planning and physical conditioning before starting on such an "adventure," especially since part of one ascent is a "class three" climb. The Three Guys who are our guides (Michael Yeager, Steve Peterson, and Peter Syvertsen) do a great job laying out the information on everything from stocking up in a foreign country to avoiding altitude sickness (unfortunately, one fell victim to it anyway). Graphics and maps are great. The only flaw is the serious lack of fill lighting; way too many interior shots and virtually every scene taped in the car come out in silhouette. While you don't expect a lot of equipment to be used on the trail, better lighting is expected elsewhere. Recommended anyway. Aud: P. (R. Reagan)
