I don't think that Darrel Scott is a member of the clergy, but he most certainly could adopt that mantle should he so desire. In this, his 45-minute testimony taped at Two Rivers Baptist Church in Nashville, TN, he holds his audience riveted as he talks about his daughter Rachel, who was killed in the Columbine tragedy, reading from her diaries and sharing some of her drawings and poetry, all of which reveal a young woman of intelligence, sensitivity, deep religious conviction, and eerie instances of premonition about her last year on earth. In personable, assured style, Scott encourages young people to stand up for their religious convictions, and to "carry the torch" that Rachel and the other Columbine victims have passed on. He also believes that the solution to these types of tragedies lies not with gun control, but with putting God back in schools, a viewpoint that drew hearty applause from the Southern Baptist crowd. The second half of the tape is comprised of sections from Rachel's funeral service as seen on CNN, focusing on the extemporaneous tributes of her friends, teachers, and relatives. Ultimately, this program will be seen primarily for its tie-in to the Columbine tragedy, making it more of a not-so-current event video, but a strong, optional purchase nonetheless. Aud: P. (K.
