There are magicians, and then there's David Blaine. An occasional guest on talk shows and star of three television specials, Blaine has an understated, street-smart style that makes his extraordinary skills with sleight-of-hand and extreme magic (such as remaining inside a block of ice for several days) all the more mind-blowing. This compilation of great moments from Blaine's trio of TV programs finds him crossing the U.S. and performing tricks for onlookers, including levitating before three unsuspecting girls in Atlantic City, and freaking out a poor woman in New Orleans by pulling up his shirt to reveal the name of her dead friend. Even if you're not a magic buff, there's something mesmerizing about Blaine's no-hoopla, laconic manner that makes viewers feel they're in the presence of legerdemain greatness. Aud: P. (T. Keogh)
