Introduced by film critic and radio commentator Michael Medved, this intriguing docudrama recreates numerous examples of divine intervention in everyday life—those reality-bending events we call “miracles.” Producer/author Hanoch Teller hosts this compendium of seemingly impossible stories—culled from history books and newspaper articles—reminding us that favorable outcomes sometimes have no rational explanation. Do You Believe in Miracles? includes “Sentenced to Life” (the story of a little girl who improbably saves a man facing a gruesome death), “Elaine's War Journal” (which chronicles a number of miracles during Desert Storm), and “Amigos” (about a Cuban refugee helped by strangers), among others. In each instance, the question is raised: coincidence or miracle? This engaging program asks viewers to be the judge, although it weights the scales heavily in favor of the miraculous. A bit sappy at times, this is still a fascinating and compelling watch that should appeal to audiences looking for inspirational stories. Recommended. Aud: P. (E. Hulse)
