"Dragon Master" is the collective name of a trio of street performers based in New Orleans who do their thing on a regular basis in the vicinity of the French Quarter. L'il Countrie (Anthony Coleman), Wild Style (Patrick Anderson), and Page 1 (Michael Dunkley) perform break dancing, acrobatics and comedy, and they do it with an uncommon flair and an absolutely astonishing degree of skill. Dragon Master Showcase captures them in action on a sunny day in the Big Easy, performing before a sizeable crowd, and includes interview clips with the guys talking about their backgrounds, their nicknames, and why they've chosen to work as street entertainers. A very entertaining and intelligently edited documentary, enlivened by killer break dancing and gonzo acrobatics, this "showcase" is a circus, a B-Boy convention and stand-up comedy all happening at once. Beyond the fun, viewers can't help but see the underlying message that says a lot about self-respect, perseverance, and the choices we make about how we live our lives. Highly recommended.
