Encounters With Angels; Entertaining Angels Unawares

Recently I received a catalog in the mail advertising 27-inch angel wings made out of white turkey feathers that can be strapped on your back in a jiffy and you're ready to go...um, I'm not sure where...all for the heavenly price of $89.95 (there may not be a better bargain on earth!). However, if you'd just rather watch the professionals, two new videos will help shed light (a very bright light) on the subject of angels. Though both titles are structurally very similar in their presentation of the perception of angels in human history, interviews with angelic-encounter-types, and guidance on what to make of these helpful spirits, Encounters With Angels is by far the more serious of the two. Viewers will learn the Judeo-Christian history of angels as they appeared in both the Old and New Testaments. The program sports basic production values, meager special effects, and abundant firsthand experiences with eyewitnesses reporting very similar stories--"Something bad was happening; I felt very depressed; the room filled with a brilliant light; I felt a sense of overwhelming peace." A mediocre though capable and sure to be popular report. Due to the subject matter, this is a strong optional purchase. Aud: P.In Entertaining Angels Unawares viewers will quickly get a feel for what's out there angel-wise...way out there. A man builds an angel runway to help them land safely on earth; a woman, inspired by angels, puts little angel statues hither and yon around the city of Los Angeles--10 cherubs per square mile (and at 468.7 sq. miles total, that's...lots!). In addition, viewers will learn about Angel Guides who will connect them to their own personal guardian angels, and hear enough close encounter stories to keep even hard-hearted skeptics on needles and pinions.
