Intended as a “vehicle to encourage and motivate” efforts at inclusion of developmentally disabled individuals within the community, Gahanna Bill presents the story of Bill Withrow, a middle-aged resident of the small town of Gahanna, Ohio, who has not only become the number one fan of high school athletics but has also provided a major source of inspiration to his fellow citizens over the years. Combining home movie footage, interviews, and contemporary shots of Bill's day-to-day life, the program underscores the fact that Bill's parents' successful efforts in keeping their son out of an institution combined with their unflagging support have helped him become a valuable, contributing member of society. Sure to be a boon to teachers, service providers, disability advocates, and others involved in the issue of inclusion, this is recommended. Aud: H, C, P. (S. Fisher)
