Focusing on the aftermath of the shootings at Columbine High School in Littleton, Colorado, Game Over in Littleton combines newsreel footage with student and other eyewitness accounts to dramatically recreate the horror of April 20, 1999, before turning to stories of unselfish acts of courage and spirituality that surfaced soon afterward. Interviewed students and adults (including the mother of Columbine victim Rachel Scott) discuss the role of faith in helping them to heal and cope with their losses, while experts explore the effects that violent media, particularly video games, might have played in the shootings, desensitizing the student gunmen to kill without feeling or conscience. Sensitively portraying the horrific nature of violence and the resulting grief and sorrow felt by family and friends, this religiously-themed program will hopefully help viewers gain an understanding of the senselessness of violent behavior where ultimately everyone loses.
