Monuments, statues, even fields seem to come alive as the exciting narration and excellent sound effects reenact the three day battle. From the South's early victories on the first day of battle to the ill-fated charge of General George Pickett and 11,000 Confederate soldiers across an open field (2/3rds of the men would never make it) -- a move that would finally convince Lee to retreat. On each historic patch of land, there stands a glorious structure to commemorate what happened. The program concludes at the site where Lincoln delivered his immortal Gettysburg Address.
