This filmed interview with noted sculptor Henry Moore, who died in 1986, was apparently shot for French television. Moore is shown talking in his studio, located in the English countryside, about his ideas concerning art and artists. Noted primarily for his large abstract sculptures, Moore's favorite motif was the reclining figure, and several of these are photographed. Although he occasionally wanders in his discourse, his enthusiasm for both his work and for the arts, in general, are readily apparent throughout. Since Moore felt his art was best suited to natural settings, many of the shots are taken outside-including a generous sampling of several of his sculptures which adorn a private Scottish estate. This low-key documentary about one of the most influential sculptors of the century is recommended for libraries with large art collections.
