From the top-secret British SOE (Special Operations Executive) and its Foxley and Foxley II operations to several plans that originated with German Resistance leaders and with members of the German Wehrmacht, this excellent History Channel production offers extraordinary contemporary film footage and photographs of people, places, and events surrounding several of the attempts to assassinate Adolf Hitler during WWII. Personal interviews with survivors of both WWII and some of these assassination plots provide greater insights into the tales told throughout, and the footage of Hitler himself is not the customary newsreel stock appearances, but rather a rare glimpse of the man in daily domestic routines. Although Hunting Hitler goes into much more detail than can be described here, suffice it to say that the contents provide an extraordinary glimpse into extraordinary events during a most fateful time in human history. Highly recommended. Aud: H, C, P. (M. Rechel)
