Inside X: ESPN's X Games IX

Featuring all of the highlights from the 2003 X-Games, celebrating alternative sports, Inside X presents--in all of their spectacular glory--the surfers, skateboarders, BMX riders, motocross cyclists, aggressive inline skaters, and wakeboarders who push the limits of human physical abilities by becoming one with their ride of choice. The venerable Tony Hawk is here, doing an incredible 900-degree spin after launching off the business side of a vertical ramp, as well as motocross star Travis Pastrana, who performs a needs-to-be-seen-to-be-believed 360-degree spin in the midst of a bike jump (what hath Evel Knievel wrought?). Other stars of the different sports (although not household names) ply their trade with skill, accuracy, and a love of fun (note to parents--unlike some other entries in the genre, this is kid-safe viewing: no edgy alternative lifestyles, and all the action is on the dirt, surf, or concrete). The competition in the X-Games is really all about the individual's quest to top his or herself--and fellow shredders cheer them on every step of the way. DVD extras include direct jumps to all of the winning runs, a video instructional guide loaded with trick how-to's, and a bonus audio CD, with 16 soundtrack cuts from contemporary artists such as O.A.R.
