An Australian production, Living with Schizophrenia presents an accurate, non-threatening portrait of adults with schizophrenia, focusing on various issues related to the illness, including medications (prescribed and illegal), emotional/mental issues and support, and the ability to work. Varying in age and background, the interviewees offer similar suggestions about working in partnership with doctors to determine one's best health and medication options; taking responsibility for one's daily decisions and care; seeking appropriate support from others; and acknowledging limitations. Some American viewers may have difficulties with the Australian accents; however, the valuable information on practical strategies for living with the illness offered here will motivate individuals and families affected by schizophrenia to look beyond this slight challenge. Highly recommended. Aud: H, C, P. (K. Sullivan)
