Not, you say, another video about killer whales. Yes, we say, another one, but with a difference: Dr. Randall Eaton has, for more than 20 years, studied Orcinus Orca (a.k.a. the killer whale) in the Pacific Northwest, and here he presents his intriguing and challenging theories about, and keen observations of, O. Orca society, behavior, communication, and intelligence. In the course of his work with the Orca Project, Dr. Eaton has looked at the larger context of human-animal interactions and relationships--as exemplified by the Native Americans of the Pacific Northwest--attempting, in the process, to identify and describe the Orca species' true place in the physical and spiritual world. Filmed primarily in the Northwest, breath-taking cinematography does justice to these incredibly beautiful, graceful, and intelligent animals, while Dr. Eaton's presentation--though a little low-key and 'laid back'--conveys the spiritual atmosphere he's looking for to share his deep reverence for O. Orca. Highly recommended. Aud: J, H, C, P. (M. Rechel)
