Survivors

“Once you're violated, it doesn't go away…it just doesn't,” is but one of the raw feelings revealed by the dozen or so rape survivors speaking about their experiences and emotional burdens on this short but effective tape. Survivors reminds viewers that rape is a violation of personal and, even, in an epidemic sense, human rights; that rape can color future events and decisions (“I use this in everything in my life”); and that many of our sisters didn't survive their ordeals. Sporting a classic black-and-white, crisp look and interesting-but-not-too-strained-artistic direction, this inspirational production is recommended in view of its unusual approach. Aud: C, P. (K.
