Tale of the Beaver

Brought back from near-extinction, the North American beaver benefits plants and animals up and down the food chain and helps to shape and maintain the wilderness. To do this, our animal friend has to be....well...busy as a beaver! Tale of the Beaver follows its subject through the seasons: spring ice break and the birth of kits; summer open-water activity; autumn preparation for bitter weather and winter rest. Excellent nature photography (with an emphasis on underwater views of beaver habitats) highlights this well-rounded portrait of a tree-chomping international treasure which is, also, a boon to the environment.
