It's a testament to Russ Finley's superb cinematography that Yellowstone will never look like this to the casual observer. The oldest, most popular, national park in the U.S. received its official declaration in 1872, and has been the site for millions of visitors over the past century plus. Using a superimposed map, The Complete Yellowstone takes viewers in at the west entrance to the park, and works around in a circle back to the starting point. Along the way, viewers are treated to not only the expected sights (such as Old Faithful erupting, or bear approaching vehicles), but also some beautiful time-lapse photography of numerous flora and fauna. River otters, the sandhill crane, coyotes, deer, and elk (shown during the fall rutting season delivering their mating calls), are just a few of the more than 30 animal species captured on film. And, there is a stunning look at Yellowstone Park in winter- a purely poetic sight. Highly recommended. (See COLORADO'S NARROW GAUGE RAILROADS for availability.)
