Naturalists call it "instinct." Sports enthusiasts call it "gut feeling." Psychologists call it "precognitive recognition." Really cool people call it "synchronicity." I just call it "intuition" and if you don't already have an intuitive sense of what it is, you might be in trouble. This interesting video explores the phenomenon of "knowing without knowing how you know" through the testimony of regular folks and clinical experts alike. The video poses several questions. Why do children, women and old people seem more intuitive? Why are first impressions almost always right? Why is America the least intuitive culture on the planet? Of course, if Americans did just take responsibility for their own intuition, we'd put the Psychic Friends Network out of business (this alone has convinced me that intuition is a good thing). But we don't, because our empirical, conscious minds are always buzzing with chatter and we're too busy muttering insipid things to each other like "have a nice day." A good exploration of the subject, but a little more intuitive pricing would have helped. Recommended. Aud: C, P. (R. Ray)
