The Original Latin Kings of Comedy

The Original Kings of Comedy, with its all-star roster of African American comedians, seems to have launched a cottage industry of niche comedy concerts. Already we've seen The Queens of Comedy and The Blue Collar Comedy Tour. This concert, recorded in El Paso, TX, gathers five Latin comics, but while it may be an empowering experience for Hispanics, it does not hit the universal chords to appeal to a wider audience (which may be the point). Fast forward through Joey Medina and Alex Reymundo to get to host Cheech Marin, rising star George Lopez, and headliner Paul Rodriguez, whose observations on Latin culture and families tweak well-worn stereotypes.
