The only thing "unexplained" about this tape is why the producers would use the moon as an excuse to string together three unrelated and sensational stories about murder and mayhem, along the lines of a bad episode of Rescue 911. Instead of presenting a researched and balanced study of the full moon and its effects on humans, the video relies on blurry slo-mo re-enactments of heightened emergency room activity and stylized 17th century werewolf encounters to exploit the theory that the full moon causes violence and madness. While a segment investigating the theory that eclipses are somehow related to earthquakes holds the most interest, even this initially promising narrative thread gets bogged down with unnecessary graphic footage of the San Francisco earthquake. Cable producers should, in my opinion, get back to programming which provides adults with intelligent information, and steer away from exploiting human misery for ratings. There is nothing new in this study of the moon which presents about as much illumination on its subject as a new moon. Not recommended. (R. Ray)
