Naomi Rubinstein-Azar grew up in Israel, the child of Hungarian parents who had survived the Nazi death camps. As a member of the "second generation" (the children of Holocaust survivors), she knew little of what her parents had endured during WWII. When her parents decided to return to Hungary for a family visit, Naomi picked up a video camcorder and recorded the whole journey. In conversations with her parents and her aunts, Naomi and her siblings (and their children) learned exactly what their family endured at the hands of the Nazis in 1944-45. On the one hand, it's a grim story; on the other, it's an inspiring story. Mainly, however, it's a story with a lot more resonance than most run-of-the-mill family histories, and one that needs to be told and heard. Highly recommended, particularly for libraries with comprehensive Holocaust studies collections. Aud: H, C, P. (P. Van Vleck)
