Ultimate Bull Riding

“Ohh…that's gotta hurt” is what I found myself thinking repeatedly during this collection of eight-second rides from hell culled from Professional Rodeo Cowboys Association bull riding events from across the U.S. Backed by a pulsing soundtrack of surf music and hard and Southern rock, Ultimate Bull Riding is divided into several subject segments, comprised of clips employing multiple angles and featuring instant replays. “Hitting the Dirt” is a montage of nothing but bad rides that end in spectacular wrecks, such as when a cowboy gets caught in the harness and is flopped around like a rag doll while the rodeo clown tries to free him; “90 Point Club” showcases best of the best rides; “Classic Action” takes a look at vintage footage featuring bull riding legends such as Gary Leffew, Tuff Hedeman, Terry Don West, and Donnie Gay; and “Just Chute Me” looks at rides that go terribly, horribly wrong before the chute is even opened. Comparing the historical footage with the modern, one can see that contemporary bulls are clearly bigger and more aggressive, which likely accounts for the reported statistic that one out of every 15 rides requires the services of a doctor.
