This Star Trek retrospective features great clips but a framing-sequences skit that is an ongoing embarrassment too feeble to be ignored: in fact, a good half of this program, which aired on UPN (and was panned), is given over to Jason Alexander as Captain Kirk in lame filler that is poorly conceived, poorly written, and poorly delivered. The actual clips cover all the major thematic concerns (Villains, Beauties, etc.) and are quite entertaining when allowed to speak for themselves (which they rarely are, unfortunately). Although the program also includes a nice tribute to DeForrest Kelley (Dr. McCoy in the original Star Trek), a better choice here would be William Shatner's Star Trek Memories (VL-1/96) or even Star Trek: 30 Years and Beyond (VL Online). Not recommended. Aud: P. (M. Tribby)
