Now in its ninth year, the 2003 edition of the sneaker-sponsored Warped Tour finds musicians and organizers alike in a nostalgic mood, as captured in this DVD memoir of another summer of punk rock, skating, and BMX racing. It's the music that matters most, and the 24 acts here include the Dropkick Murphys' hard-charging Celtic rock, Rancid's typically bouncy but rough-edged ravings, Sum 41's epic leanings, and Andrew W.K.'s goofy update on Phil Spector's "wall of sound." Most of the bands, however, are one-dimensional and redundant, making long stretches of Vans Warped Tour 2003--to quote the Buckinghams--kind of a drag. Presented in Dolby Digital 5.1, the disc's special features include an extra hour's worth of interviews, behind the scenes footage, and a photo gallery. Optional. Aud: P. (T. Keogh)
