A rare starring role for quirky character actress Amanda Plummer and she brings all her ferocious intensity to bear on Eunice, a multi-tattooed, body-pierced and chain-swathed psycho killer cruising the backroads of Northern England searching for someone named Judith. One of the few people she spares is Miriam (Saskia Reeves), a sweet, sympathetic hard-of hearing clerk who becomes her lover and reluctant partner in crime. As the body count escalates, Eunice wails, "God's forgotten me. I kill people. You'd think he'd smite me." It's an understatement to say that this is no Thelma and Louise joyride, but if you want to see an extraordinary performance, just strap yourself in and hang on. Optional. (K. Lee Benson)
