Emily's parents were Holocaust survivors. Gitta's parents were German. The two women begin a romance, but the relationship suffers under the weight of their shared and unique personal and historical legacies. This 30-minute fictional drama from filmmaker Tami Gold offers an interesting perspective on the repercussions of one's family's past, and is well done on most levels, but is really too short to cover its issues in depth, or to be truly entertaining. If the filmmaker had submitted this as a novel to a book publisher, she might have received an "interesting-but-not-quite-there-try-us-again-later" rejection letter. Suitable only for very large Jewish studies or gay and lesbian studies collections. Aud: C. (K. Glaser)
