Four Rooms

Of which only two are worth checking into. As might be expected, directors Robert Rodriguez (Desperado) and Quentin Tarantino (Pulp Fiction) bring the most energy and fun to this New Year's Eve party that unfolds at the Mon Signor Hotel. Tim Roth makes Jim Carrey look subtle as the hapless bell boy who careens from a coven of witches to a gangster who compels him to babysit his mischievous children. Allison Anders and Alexandre Rockwell each directed segments. Tarantino's is an homage (rip-off?) of a classic "Alfred Hitchcock Presents" episode in which Steve McQueen bet Peter Lorre his cigarette lighter could ignite ten times in a row.
