Givers of Death is a thriller set during an epidemic season. A painful and deadly virus gives people sleepless nights. The epidemic sweeps a large percentage of the population in the country. There is no vaccine for the virus, and it makes people’s lives hard. Most lost their loved ones during the epidemic. The only thing one could do is terminate their life rather than suffer from the disease.
The introduction of assassins arises, known as the Givers of Death. Those who could not terminate their lives hired assassins to do it for them. Phog (Addison Henderson) is one of those affected by the virus. He also works as a Giver of Death while recovering from the loss of his wife and child.
Phog meets a guy and shares his story with him. He explains how his wife’s death left him without meaning in his life. He tells Phog he can talk to his loved ones to find peace. He uses a telephone booth to communicate with his dead wife and encourages Phog to do the same. Phog is rightfully skeptical and doesn’t believe it could work for him, but it does.
He is taken to another world of imagination, and fear overwhelms him as he is finally able to speak to his wife. Givers of Death shows how painful it is to lose a loved one. The film explores the lengths people will go to prevent themselves from dying of a deadly disease. It also raises the question, is euthanasia (or mercy killing) ethical? Should you suffer through the various stages of diseases or end your life easier? Is it okay to do this to your family members?
Givers of Death shows a worldwide pandemic that takes many lives and leaves their loved ones in pain. It's the accurate picture of what is happening in actual life situations, causing suffering to people. It shows the struggle many people face to this day and the drastic actions people take to deal with grief.
