Imagine a feature-length Three Stooges film without the high-spirited energy, and you've got the embarrassing Gone Fishin', a comedy about a couple of lunch-pail guys (Danny Glover and Joe Pesci) leaving destruction in their wake. Unlike Larry, Moe and Curly, there's nothing primally lovable about Pesci and Glover--they're immature, annoying and, worst of all, they just won't shut up. If you want to make a movie about two guys wrecking stuff, then by all means, let the two guys wreck stuff. Instead, Gone Fishin' spends 20 minutes on inane chatter for every two minutes of slapstick action. The stars end up looking like two long-lost Howard brothers raised in the suburbs, a pair of garrulous, well-intentioned accidental Stooges. Nyuck nyuck, indeed. Not recommended. (S. Renshaw)
