Henry Rollins, former front man for the punk group Black Flag and star of the Rollins Band, has become a polished monologist captivating large audiences with his satirical, sometimes searing observations about American political and cultural life. Shock & Awe finds the imposing Rollins, fresh from USO tours in Afghanistan and Iraq, ready to storm the heavens with ferocious observations about the war and its architects (including George W. Bush's disastrous tendency to go off script while discussing national policy in public: "Mayday! Eagle is off the page!"). Rollins also recalls a funny story about attending a Kill Bill premiere in a disheveled state and being rejected by a bouncer at the same time he's being mobbed by fans. He also shares details about his slow-going love life, and a winning anecdote about collaborating with William Shatner on a Ben Folds Five album. DVD extras include a tour photo gallery. Recommended.
