Only in Hollywood, or perhaps only in the movies, can a tour bus driver win the heart of a beautiful actress by rewriting her script. That she doesn't know that he is a tour bus driver is the contrivance that drives this predictable romantic comedy. Obviously an inside job, the script's gratuitous name-dropping (Steven Spielberg, Brad Pitt) rings false, as does JoBeth Williams' broadly-played chainsmoking hotshot agent. However, Jeremy Piven and Sherilyn Fenn, making the most of rare starring roles, are a winning and personable ouple. She has rarely played so winsome a character and his off-center goofball charm makes him a credible and extremely likable romantic leading man. A very pleasant diversion on cable perhaps, an optional purchase on video. (K. Bottom line: a disappointing extras package for a decent rom-com.]
