When kleptomaniac Emily's (Meredith Bishop) attempts to find a medical treatment for her condition fail, she embarks on a five-finger discount shopping spree, only to be caught by Nick (Jsu Garcia), a security guard who doesn't turn her over to the authorities, but instead recruits her to help him with his own criminal activities. From there, the story gets progressively weaker and sillier to the point where it feels as if filmmaker Thomas Trail did his own kleptomaniacal lifting of plot twists from a dozen different indie flicks. The young leads look fine on camera, but have no chemistry together, while veteran actors such as Leigh Taylor-Young, Michael Nouri, and Henry Czerny appear in small roles that clearly enriched their bank accounts without adding much to this production. Not recommended. [Note: DVD extras include a “behind-the-scenes” featurette. Bottom line: a small extras package for a forgettable film.] (P. Hall)
