Mascarpone by Alessandro Guida and Matteo Pilati is a sweet and passionate love film. Viewers will be enamored with the beautiful city with beautiful men in beautiful apartments with beautiful stuff.
Antonio (Gincarlo Commare), Enrico's (Fabio Fappiano) devoted and sensitive husband of 12 years, spends his days sleeping in, working out, and baking for his beloved Enrico. Antonio is devastated when Enrico returns home one day and breaks up with him. He is forced to reevaluate his identity and the qualities he seeks in a romantic partner.
Despite missing his ex-husband, Antonio starts dating and working as an apprentice baker for the handsome Luca (Gianmarco Saurino) while getting to know his new sex-positive roommate Denis (Eduardo Valdarnini). Antonio begins to form a new social circle and he quickly learns about the contemporary gay community.
As his sexual preferences shift and he becomes more comfortable sleeping with men other than his boyfriend, he must mature and learn some difficult lessons. During this time, he gains insight into himself and strives to avoid making the same mistakes he has made in the past.
Is becoming a baker Luca's pipe dream, or does he genuinely want to do so? Is he thinking about going back to architecture school and bringing the hunky photographer Thomas (Lorenzo Adorni) with him to Milan? Or, as he did with his husband, is he just trying to win over the males in his life?
